Duck Island

Duck Island

Duck Island is a recreational island featuring many activity and sports entertainment areas such as shelter rentals, a tennis court, horseshoes, and volleyball and basketball courts.

On Duck Island, people walk, run, and bike. There is a fully accessible paved 1/2 mile level walking trail that circles the entire perimeter of the island. If you’re up for a little more rigor you can take a trail up the hill into the woods which then takes you to a gravel trail across the top of the hill on the island. To make the walk longer, instead of driving across to Duck Island and parking there, you can park near the marina and walk across the accessible causeway to Duck Island.

The Lions Club of Kingsport installed a drinking fountain on the island for visitors as well as a special drinking fountain for your 4-legged furry friends. Pets are welcome on a leash.

All courts and fields are reserved on a first come, first serve basis. Picnic tables are also first come first serve. Shelters, however, are available for rental. Call the park office at 423.239.8531 for more details.
